Driven Gravel Cores

A ground improvement process developed by AGRA Foundations for forming vertical columns of compacted gravel through soils to be improved. This method is most suited for sensitive cohesive soils, which precludes use of vibratory equipment and jetting, in loose course sand and gravel containing cobbles, and sites having environmental concerns.

Equipment and methods used for constructing (driven) Compacto Piles is utilized for constructing driven gravel cores. Simply, zero slump concrete is replaced with gravel. Clean 20 mm maximum size gravel is expelled as the tube is withdrawn.
