Steel Sheet Pile Walls

Are constructed by driving preformed (interlocking) steel sections in sequence into the ground. Soil conditions may allow for sections to be driven using vibratory methods instead of being impact driven. Steel sheet piles are most commonly used as cofferdams or as cut-off walls to control inflow of ground water.

Advantages over other materials:

  1. Can be reused.
  2. Provides watertight excavation.
  3. Minimizes surface settlement.
  4. Has long service life above or below water.
  5. Length easily adjusted by cutting or welding.
