Advantages

- Easily spliced, or extended with patented joint, in field.
- Best suited as friction piles in sand, gravel, and clays.
- Can be extended above ground to form columns.
Disadvantages
- Susceptible to damage during handling and driving due to tensile stresses..
- Handling and shipping cost.
- Maximum casting length 15 m.
General
- Frequently cast with hollow core.
- Suitable pickup points must be indicated.
- Must be designed to resist stresses induced by handling, driving, and structural loads.
